Does the Infobase Learning Video Platform support HTTPS?

What is HTTPS?
HTTPS is the secure way of loading content over the Internet. It helps to protect your privacy and security while browsing the web. HTTPS uses an SSL certificate to ensure secure and encrypted connections between you and the website.
You can tell if you are loading a page over HTTPS by looking at the beginning of the URL in your browser’s address bar. In most modern web browsers you’ll also see a green lock that indicates everything on the page is loaded over HTTPS.
Does Infobase support HTTPS?
Infobase Learning's video platform already completely supports HTTPS. If you’d like to load the video platform over HTTPS, you’ll just need to make sure the access URLs you are using start with HTTPS. This can be done by simply adding an “S” to change the URL to start with https:// instead of http:// for the Films on Demand portion of the URL - no other changes are needed (this will work as long as your are using up to date URLs using the infobase.com domain - if you are using older URLs, you'll need to update them first).
Some Films on Demand content requires HTTPS. This is due to the DRM protections some producers require on their content. You can learn more about the Infobase Learning DRM solution here.
Switching to HTTPS
This year, we'll be switching the video platform to always use and require HTTPS. You can switch the URLs you are already using to HTTPS to get ahead of the transition. In the near future, we’ll only provide secure URLs. A bit later this year, we’ll start redirecting everyone to the HTTPS version of the video platform.
To prepare for this switch, the only thing you’ll need to do is to make sure your proxy server supports HTTPS. To support HTTPS, you’ll need to have an SSL certificate and have it properly configured for your proxy server. If you don’t use a proxy server, there is nothing you need to do.
