New!  Today's Health Videos Resource page (April 27, 2018)

More than 600 HealthDay TV videos are gathered in one place. Videos can be filtered by date and topic. The link to this page appears on the Browse drop-down menu under “Resources” and under the “Browse Resources” widget on the homepage.

New Content! The Center for Disease Control API added (April 27, 2018)

More than 700 feature articles from more than fifty sources at the Centers for Disease Control have been added to the database. These timely illustrated articles are accessible via search and through the sources section.

Citations added to Journal articles (April 27, 2018)

Citations were added to Journal articles. They can be formatted in MLA8, Chicago or Harvard reference style and can be exported to Easy Bib.

New Feature! Interactive Image Viewer (January 18, 2018)

An interactive image viewer was added to our image detail pages. The Image viewer enables you to explore the details of images in our database.

New Feature ! QR code added to Image Print Page (January 18, 2018)

A QR code was added to the print page of the image detail page.  You can scan the QR code with your mobile device and go to the the image record.

New Integration! Desire2Learn LTI Now Available (June 8, 2017)

Brightspace / Desire2Learn (D2L) users can now embed content from Health Reference Center directly into their courses.  For installation instructions, please refer to the Health Reference Center Desire2Learn Insert Stuff Plugin Installation article.

New IntegrationCanvas LTI Now Available (June 1, 2017)

Canvas users can now embed content from Health Reference Center directly into their courses. The LTI app provides a rich integration between Science Online and Canvas courses.  Users of Canvas can embed Health Reference Center resources directly inside their courses, without having to leave the LMS.  This plugin is LTI based and integrates directly into the standard Canvas HTML editor.

New IntegrationSchoology LTI Now Available (May 11,2017)

Customers using the Schoology learning management system can embed content from Health Reference Center directly into their courses without having to leave the LMS.  The new LTI app provides a rich integration between Health Reference Center and Schoology courses by being accessible through the standard Schoology HTML editor and the Add Materials menu within a course.

New Daily Video Feed HealthDay TV  (November 22, 2016)

Videos from HealthDay TV are now included in the Health Reference Center. These are short, timely videos that can be found on the home page, on the sources video tab, and in search. New videos are added each day from Monday through Friday.

Save to Google Drive  (August 31, 2016)

You can now download Infobase Database Platform records to your Google Drive account.

Citation Updates (August 18, 2016)

The MLA citations have been updated to the new MLA8 format. In addition, a new Harvard citation option is now available. Users can view these, along with APA and Chicago Manual of Style formats, for any record with citations. They can also set their default citation format in their user preferences.

Google Sign In (July 29, 2016)

Google Sign In can now be turned on to allow users to access the Infobase Databases platforms with their Google credentials. If you are a GAFE school, this provides an easy way for students and faculty to link their Google accounts with their Infobase Databases platform accounts. This feature must be turned on by your account administrator before it is available for users.

Google Classroom Link Tool Now Available (June 17, 2016)

For Google Classroom users, a new option has been added to the "Share" tools. This will allow users with a Google Classroom account to share an authenticated link directly into their account.

Images Added to Reuters News Articles (May 13, 2016)

Reuters articles which feature an image now display that image at the top of the article, adding a lot of visual appeal to this content. While most of the Reuters articles contain images, some do not.

Educational Standards are added to Health Reference Center (May 9, 2016)

Educational Standards are now available in Health Reference Center.

To access Search By Standards, click on the Search By Standards link found next to the Basic Search bar, on the Advanced Search page, or in the page footer.

We are excited to announce the official relaunch of Health Reference Center. Our redesigned, upgraded database offers an expanded range of trustworthy content and exciting new features, plus a new, more intuitive design that brings key content to the forefront to better facilitate research.
